WHY ME?

I have been a keen naturalist for over 30 years, travelling the length and breadth of the UK enjoying all aspects of our beautiful countryside. My passion is our amazing birdlife, Mammals, Orchids, Dragonflies and Butterflies. I’ve been known to seek out rare Grasshoppers, Ladybirds and Spiders.

I am experienced at using fieldcraft to get the best views of my quarry. Planning around the wildlife is essential, so knowing the species and their habits improves our chances. There is never a guarantee but we can always work to improve our chances.

I’ve been a photographer since before digital came along. I love capturing what I see and was an early adopter of Digiscoping. Most of us have amazing cameras in our pockets all the time and have the capability to get great pictures. If you’ve a DSLR or a Smartphone, basic photographic principles still apply and I can help you get out of auto settings to improve your pictures. I can run 1-2-1 sessions to share my experience and advice on improving results.

I’ve got extensive experience of leading groups and have started working with Naturetrek on some of their tours, getting excellent feedback. I always want you to leave our trips with knowledge and skills that you can work with on future walks you take.
